Change Region back to the UK

Hi I was trying to change my Son’s gamer tag yesterday, but when I logged back into his account from mine, on changing I changed my account by mistake. I’ve tried to change back back it’s trying to charge me $9.99. I thought my region was set to the US.

I therefore went into change region setting and mistakingly changed my region to Australia! I think there were service issues yesterday which were causing the problems.

I now can't change back to the UK because of an error.

Please help.

Am returning back to Xbox after many years away and trying to get this all update before my sons birthday on Friday when the new XboxX arrives too!

p.s. have been told to post here after talking to a Microsoft ref on chat. Hope this is the right place?

Yeah I get that, but I had no notifications pop up, and it was really unclear. Totally confusing. When I talked to the Microsoft rep in the chat, which I have the transcript for they said systems errors yesterday may have caused these issues.

Can't they make an exception and change it back?

Not a Toy! Obviously! Was trying to resolve a genuine problem. Condescending replies don't help.

The issues are linked. Because the Gamertag change was down, I thought it was something to do with my region.

When GamerTag was back live I went to make the change and pay through PayPal, however it wanted me to enter a US address. I though this was because I was in the wrong region.

I could not see what region I was in, I just assume US because of the billing address.

I therefore went to change but I saw "English (Australian)" and as I'm in England I read the first part not the brackets (could be much clearer).

Therefore I made the wrong region change.

I'm worried when the Xbox arrives it's going to hamper our setup?

the only system issues yesterday were the gamertag name changing which had been down for a week, they resolved this yesterday afternoon, unfortunately there is no way around the time limit for regions, even support cannot change this as it is to prevent people changing regions to get cheaper games.

so the only thing to do is wait the region lock out and yes it does suck.

if you want to change your tag then you could prepay for a code for the region you selected to pay or use paypal.

No as it's a hard limit and not a toy you were warned not once but 3 x about the limit and yes it isn't a one click thing

For exception you need to talk to xbox support
