Unfortunately, you can't do that, as the Microsoft account is the Xbox profile, they will be linked forever.

Games and content from one account cannot be transferred to others unless you set the old account as the primary home on your child's Xbox, but he will still have his account statistics reset, like gamerscore number and other things.

You can update and change the e-mail address associated with your acct/gamertag by going to live.com I believe.

Passwords and security features can be changed, and if I remember correctly, there is a 30-day pending period your acct goes through to verify it is you making the changes.

You'd only be essentially "adding" a new e-mail address, not so much swapping everything over to a new MS acct.

Kind of like ADDING a different payment method to make purchases.
