Change Microsoft account and Xbox Live account association

I've spoken to a few online agents about this and they've confirmed that it's not possible at the moment, so I'm raising this as a feature request (if there's a different forum to do this, please let me know)

Current Scenario

I currently have 2 different Microsoft account associated with 2 different Xbox Live (XBL) accounts.

1. My old account uses my old email address from when I was a kid, and it is the email address/account that I used on my Xbox 360. This has my old XBL gamertag and all the data that I want to keep
   
2. My new account uses my new email address and is the email address/account that I use on everything outside of my Xbox (PC, laptop, phone, etc)
   

I don't particularly want the 2 different accounts, but I understand that merging them is currently not possible -- and that it would be difficult, since we'd need to confirm which data we'd want to use from each account, and that could be a massive list to go through

I also tried the "Add an alias" option, but since both email addresses are the primary alias on separate Microsoft accounts, I couldn't build the relationship that way

What I Want To Do

For right now, I just want to change the XBL association on the Microsoft accounts. I accidentally created a new XBL account associated with my new Microsoft account without realising, and this XBL account has a totally new gamertag and its own set of data

I want to delete the XBL account that is currently associated with my new email address/Microsoft account, and all of the data on this account -- that is, everything related to the new gamertag. Then, I want to sever the association between the old Microsoft account and the old XBL account, and update the old XBL account to be associated with my new Microsoft account

This would allow me to keep using my new Microsoft account, but still have all of the data from my old Xbox 360. This also has the advantage that I could then comfortably delete my old Microsoft account because the only data I want from that account is the XBL account data

I also understand that this type of feature is currently not available for a number of reasons including security concerns (such as fraudulent account takeover attempts), so I'd definitely expect there to be a lot of authentication required on both accounts to prove that they're both mine

I expect that many people have this issue -- a lot of my friends have stopped using the childish email addresses that they had on their Xboxes and are now in the same position of having disconnected Microsoft accounts

I'm not interested in responses to this thread that say "This is not possible" -- I am aware of this unless there's a workaround that I don't know about

Instead, please could the responses let me know how to get this into the pile of feature requests, or just to show your support for this feature request
