Change gamer picture on a child account

I am the parent organizer for our family account. I would like to allow my child to change his gamer pic but don't want him to have an adult account. This seems like a simple thing to do. Is there a parent setting?

They can change it to one of the gamertags provided by Xbox, but they won't be able to change it to a custom gamertag until they are 18. There are no settings that can override that.

No there isn't, even if you change his account to teen and change the gamer picture then change his account back to a child, the custom pic will delete immediately. It's a good idea to do what StuartATrueRed has suggested

Unfortunately there is no way to transfer game data between accounts.

Yes with child accounts there are restrictions like not being able to set custom gamer pics which basically means he would not be able to take a picture with say his phone upload it to his console and set it as his gamer pic. Microsoft does have regular
pictures that he can choose from to change it to he would just not be able to change it to a custom picture.
