Discus and support change external hard drive in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have a 4tb hard drive now, I want to change it over to an 8tb, how do i transfer all the games and apps. will everything appear in the "Ready To...     I have a 4tb hard drive now, I want to change it over to an 8tb, how do i transfer all the games and apps.

    will everything appear in the "Ready To Install" section on My Games and Apps, or do I have to do something else

    How easy is it to change a hard drive?(Xbox One)

    you dont change the internal hard drive. you just plug in an external harddrive into a usb slot. that's it.

    With the current dash update it as simple as plugging the 8Tb drive into the Xbox One and using the copy or move function found in Settings>Storage to move or copy from the 4Tb drive and then deleting content from that disc drive.

    Hello there! Are you using an external HDD? If so, sometimes changing it to a different USB port can fix the problem.
    No I have switched the game from the external hard drive to the internal hard drive many times. I have also changed the port many times while the game was on the external hard drive

    Did you change the internal hard drive with a new one or are you struggling to get an external hard drive to be picked up by the console?

    Changing the internal hard drive goes against the Code of Conduct and you risk getting the console banned. Any warranty you had on the console will be void if you open the console.

    Best is to use an external hard drive.

    If you struggling to get the external picked up by the console then you should check the link provided by the other Ambassador.

    Not sure what you wanted to do here, could you elaborate?

    As for external hard drives, you can't partition them for use as both external storage for games and for use with your Mac or PC. You can use an external hard drive on the Xbox One as a media drive, though.

    If you format an external hard drive for Xbox One games storage, the whole drive is formatted and the file system is changed.

    The internal drive on the XB1 can't be changed. You can expand it with an external hard drive, however.
