Change emails for gamertag

Sorry, but you will have to create a new dummy email address to shift to the new account so you can free up the one you want to use.

I've been trying this for a while on a number of live accounts only for a message to appear stating "The email address associated with your Microsoft account can't be changed". So please post back with your outcome.

Yes, there is! First of all, once you have signed in, go to 'My account' In the top right. Then scroll down a little bit till you see 'Contact Preferences' on the lower right side, click that. Now, where your email is shown, type the email you wish to have
and click 'save'



I will also guide you on how to do this on the console (just for future reference or for other users who may be curious viewing this post)



1.) Sign in to the account you wish to alter, then press the middle silver button on your controller

2.) Press RB twice!

3.) Go down, and select 'account management'

4.) Go across twice, and select 'Account security'

5.) Select 'Change Microsoft account'

6.) Select Yes, enter the password for the email address shown (that is assigned to that account)

7.) Enter the email address you wish to change it to, and enter the password for that email address.

So far Microsoft have suggested recovering password and opend a ticket with the global Escalation team

I've done everything that they asked so far, but seams to be taking ages

He doesn't but didn't offer to help either as it's not his main email
