Change child's gamertag

Hi,

My son wants to change his gamertag. We don't have an x box so are using the app. His account is managed by me as a child account. I have put £10 on his Microsoft account. When he goes to change his tag, I then get the option to deny or allow. But when I
click allow it takes me to a page which says I need to add money to his account, where there is money there. When I try to add money, it has defaulted to American dollars and will not let me add money, it says I need to update the profile address but this
will only let me add a US address, the option to change country is greyed out and stuck on US. When I try to add money via paypal or a card it won't let me as I don't have a US address.

Is there a way around this, or can I get my £10 back as I only added it on there so he could change his tag.

How do I change my child's gamertag?

No option in my account to change my child's gamertag. Do I need to do this as my child's account? And when it asks to add a credit card to my child's account to change the gamertag, can I remove the credit card? Thanks.

I'm trying to change the gamertag for my kids accounts. I log into them with the Microsoft ID / pass -- account.xbox.com. Then I go to Profile (which is where I think gamertag changes would be). I get an error --- It appears you've found a glitch......
Please try later. Problem is I have been trying for a few days.

I can't find where I can change my kids gamertags from MY account. I can only set up security / etc.

I'm sure this is a user error! So, please let me know.

 

So this page has some details on that: Update Microsoft account if Moving to a New Country or Region
Down in the section titled: "Conditions that can prevent you from changing your country/region"

Since your child is a minor, they are prevented from changing the region to the account directly. That is a security measure to prevent minors from changing their account to a region where their age would not be considered a minor.

And it seems to think that the child account is in the US region, so you would have to contact official support about that at support.xbox.com/contact-us

One other thing I'd recommend you check is the region of the Xbox Console it self. The link above also has a section
"How to change your country/region on Xbox One" that you should follow, preferably on your account, but double check on your child's account as well, to make sure the Console is set to the proper region as well.
