    How can I change the configuration of my son account, so he can download games like Call of Duty. Currently, he is getting an error message telling he has a child account and cannot download this game.

    XBOX Live - cannot download free demo. Help

    You may have set the account to a childs account ,which will not allow the downloading of a mature rated game.

    it could also be a gold only demo,which would not allow a silver member to download it.

    "Teen" to "Adult" privacy settings

    There are no settings that will allow a child account to download free M rated or unrated content. Those settings will allow you to download paid content, but free demos or betas are considered advertising and cannot be downloaded on a child account.

    Cod is a M rated game. As far as I know, child accounts can not download M rated games. For that account, you will have to wait until he can promote his account to an adult account. That will be when he reaches the age of 18. For M rated games, I think the
    only way he would be able to play, is if you buy the disc, and I am not even certain that will work.

    if u go to your settings in account go to sign in security and pass key you can change the preferences to no barriers that should help

    I think the wrong age may be associated with my account when I signed up.

    Honestly, except for demos there's not much you'd miss on a child account vs. an adult one anyway. Settings can be changed to allow a child account to download M rated content.
