    Chan I restore my og gamertag after changing it?


    I used to have a 360 and then got game pass recently. I was using my account from back then. I didn't know about how they changed the amount of characters you can have etc as my old tag had more than 12 letters... I also didn't know about the 10$ fee or that there would be numbers after the new name. Is there any way to just restore my original tag? Thanks

    My name is welcome to the community.

    Hello Mark, unfortunately it is not possible to recover a Gamertag once it has been changed.

    In order to have a name that doesn't have numbers (suffix) you must choose a name that doesn't exist or write your Gamertag in a way that hasn't been written yet.

    Like I said, you more than likely had some corrupt marketplace data on the account which was fixed or updated after you downloaded your profile again. These are now the correct pictures for the games. Nothing is wrong with your account, so there's nothing
    to worry about. Developers sometimes change the pictures it has absolutely no effect on your account or anyone else's. It's just a simple icon change.
