    I previously wrote a post about blue ray disk play i was trying to watch a 90s movie called A.W.O.L absent without leave sean Claude van damme and in dvd menu nothing worked couldn't hilight any thing in dvd menu nothing worked it used to work when i had my Xbox x few years back wit the blu ray disk player but first time watching this movie in a while so tried in series x and no but strange thing is i put another dvd universal soldier in and the controller worked with that and tried another dvd and that worked strange what are you doing Microsoft with xbox software cause it works on older consoles like xbox one x also on my pc which is windows 10 and also have blu ray disk player on it and i can select anything in the dvd menu

    I think the Slim lacks the initial startup speed required to load a DVD disc but the DVD own response system is enough to activate it, Just like all DVD players wont play certain kinds of burnt material.

    I'm on my second Xbox one repair after only eight months

    ^^^ On the contrary, I found the Xbox 360 to be the best DVD player I ever had. It's the only device we have that can play a certain selection of our older DVDs, scratched to hell. We've yet to find something non region locked that the old girl can't play.
