Certain applications cause distortion when they launch PC games that are part of Game Pass

1. Make sure you have the latest audio drivers installed for your computer. Outdated or incompatible audio drivers can sometimes cause problems with sound quality. Visit your computer manufacturer's or audio device manufacturer's website to download and install the latest drivers.

2. In addition to audio drivers, make sure you have the latest Bluetooth drivers installed. Bluetooth driver updates can sometimes improve compatibility and performance with Bluetooth devices. Visit your computer manufacturer's or Bluetooth adapter manufacturer's website to download and install the latest drivers.

3. Try adjusting the audio settings on your computer. Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Open Sound Settings." In the "Output" section, select your Bluetooth headset and click "Device Properties." In the properties window, try adjusting the audio quality or disabling any enhancements that may be enabled.

4. Some applications may take exclusive control of the audio device, which may cause conflicts with other applications. To disable exclusive mode, right-click the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Open sound settings." In the "Advanced sound options" section, click "Application volume and device preferences." Find the app that is causing the problem and make sure that the “Allow apps to take exclusive control of this device” option is unchecked.

What applications have you got running in the background before you start the game? I know that certain hardware monitoring software can cause issues launching this game as will certain anti-virus or other security programs (the same was true with Forza Horizon 3).

Can you provide us with the system specs of the PC/Laptop you're attempting to run this game on please?

Also, do you have any applications running in the background that could interfere with the launch of your games?

Background applications that use overlays can cause games from the Windows 10 store to fail to launch.

For example, the commonly used bench-marking and stability tool for PC gaming called
MSI Afterburner and the associated RivaTunerStatistics Server applications are not totally compatible with Windows 10 games from the Windows Store and attempts to run games with these applications still running will, more often
than not, result in a failed game launch. You'll see the launch splash screen, then the game will close on its own back to the Win 10 desktop with no error message. Close down these apps.

If you believe the issue is with a third party Anti-virus - certain ones of which can cause similar launching issues - you should completely uninstall such applications and try your game again. Disabling them from within Windows or during Windows boot may
not fix the issue.

The Windows 10 anti-virus does not need to be disabled, it does not have any issues with Windows 10 games.

It's just called Xbox game pass Ultimate. But it is for PC as well.

Same issue here, it started when using Norton to scan Xbox Game Pass folders would cause a BSOD, now just launching some Game Pass games will cause BSODs.
