CenturyLink: How to stop my router or modem from filtering out my console MAC address?

My router or modem may be set up to filter out some devices. I'm trying to make sure router or modem isn't filtering out my consoles MAC address. I checked out the networking hardware page but saw nothing that helped and can't find a solution. How do I go
about doing this correctly?

I did try it last night. Still no luck...... Direct to the modem.

Here's the error:

Can't obtain an IP address from your router or modem.

Your router or modem may not be automatically assigning an IP address.

On your PC, go to your router configuration webpage. Make sure DHCP is enabled and has a large enough address range for all devices on the network.

Also make sure that your router's MAC filtering allows your console's MAC address or is disabled. Your console'sMAC address is 7CED8D37F58D

It could be that the router is filtering out the console's MAC address. What can be done is to log in to the router's settings and from there make sure it's not filtering out the console's MAC. If it is we would need toadd
your console's MAC address to your router's list of authorized MAC addresses.

If you change your router's MAC filtering settings, restart your router before trying to connect to Xbox Live.

So I just tried to submit a static IP address for it and it's come up with a different notice now saying 'IP Address error, the router or modem may be set up to keep certain devices from connecting. See the router's or modem's manual for info about MAC filtering.
