    Cause of Forced Update Reboot Jan 30 630AM EST?


    Can someone confirm that it is within xbox standard operating procedure for for a forced reboot to have happened on Jan 30, 6:30AM?

    Last time this was brought up a specific time policy was mentioned. I know for a fact that I manually checked for updates around Jan 28 8:00 PM EST. I also rebooted my system at 2:00 AM EST on Jan 29.

    My system is set for auto updates and has been left in rest mode. The system was unused at least between 7AM EST and 6PM EST on Jan 29..

    How could a system update be released and the grace period have elapsed given these time frames? (Also the system did not update while in rest mode.)

    Here is the timeline: Tues PM: checked for updates manually. Rebooted system and checked again for science. Wed: Left system in rest mode with auto-update for 11 hours. Thurs early AM: forced reboot.

    I will provide any additional information that could be helpful. My best guess is that an update was released early morning Wednesday and there was a 24 hour grace period. But then how can I get my console to update when I’m not using it? Do they hard wire a time frame when the console won’t update?

    For the message to appear? it's usually instantaneous for me if it isn't appearing for you then I may have a setting on that alerts me. If the two people are still there in like 30 minutes do a reboot of the xbox, that might force it to update.

    ^ Time is still posting wrong. Shows I posted at 2:08 AM on Jan 23 when I actually posted on 9:09 PM EST on Jan 22nd according to the device I'm on. This really seems like a server/account problem.

    A fix was sent out last night at around 9 pm EST. If your system has not already updated then be sure to head to settings then system and check your updates to force it.
