Capturing headset and game chat

If you’re headset/headset+microphone are plugged into your laptop as an audio capture device, then how are you supposed to hear the game volume and chat?

It will only record in-game chat if you set sound output to BOTH the connected headset and TV speakers (Xbox Guide>Preferences>Voice) and are using an audio connection that also passes through the Avermedia capture device. For example, HDMI from the Xbox
360 to your capture device will capture voice with it set to BOTH since HDMI carries audio and video. Red and White RCA cables to the capture device will also capture ingame chat.

So basically, if you do not want this, only choose output to Headset. Not TV speakers or Both.

I have the exact same issue.

Only I'm using the new Elgate Capture Card HD60x

On the xbox series x I'm using a Logitech-G Headset G433 Zwart.

When I unplug the headset from the controller I can capture teammates mic sound.

As soon as I plugin the headset, it stops capturing teammates sound.

In the Xbox party chat, passthrough and "speaker and headset" is selected.

(when using the Elgato chat link, all works, but I don't want to use the anolog audio, but the HDMI audio. I have a separated Mic connected to the recording PC for my voice. I only need the mic connected to the controller to communicate in the game).

as far as i was aware, in game chat in games automatically comes out of the game speakers so i would have thought it would be automatically captured as when i ever have audio coming out of the tv and not my headset then any game chat just comes out of
the tv speakers, so i would have thought it just automatically gets captured.
