Captures disappearing from "this xbox" in the drop down list. Please help

Hi Wuijibobo thanks for helping. No one has my passwords to get onto any of my accounts,profiles or my gaming systems. This is bizarre how my captures r just vanishing all at once and at completely random times I have tried every way I could think of to
make them disappear/delete. Hey Wuijibobo I don't have a computer right now. Well I do have my laptop but I only want to use it for work. U save your captures to your computer and that saves them for as long as u want them. Is that how an external hard drive
works? I have an external hard drive for my games but in order to save media files like XBox game captures I have to make it for media only, NO games. So if I just get another external hard drive and format it for media only would that solve this problem?
Would it be like saving it to a computer or would stuff get deleted when it needs room or after a set amount of time like the XBox1 internal hard drive does? Thanks again Wuijibobo Please let me know but I think I will get a external hard drive for my media

Regarding older clips and deleted: I think older stuff might get deleted automatically to make space for any new uploads, but I regularly go back and manually remove older recorded clips just in case. I save them to my PC hard drive before doing so, so I
still have a back up.

As for your other issue of recent captures vanishing, that seems very odd. I know a lot of people have had issues uploading captures to XBL in the last few weeks, but if they're vanishing from your XBox itself then that seems bizarre. Does anybody else have
access to your console? Is it possible that somebody might be deleting them manually?

Recently my xbox will only record a few seconds of my captures. I have read that a power cycle will help it so ive done that several times and each time after the first capture is yhe length it is supposed to be, but after that the captures shorten.
Is there another thing i could try?

Hello Ethan, you can easily fix this by going into capture settings by pressing Xbox Home>Capture Menu>Capture Settings. After entering capture settings go to “Record What Happened”, From here you can choose to make it capture from 15 Seconds To 2 Minutes

Hi there Tracy welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. If you had them backed up yes you can recover them! Because game clips that haven’t been used or viewed may be deleted at some point, you might want to back up your clips. You can do this from either your console or your PC. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, then go to Capture & share. Select Recent captures > Show all. Unfortunately once deleted they are gone,you could always back up any clips you want to keep by uploading them to OneDrive and download the app to your Xbox one that way you will still be able to view them through that app if you ever accidentally delete stuff in the future.

I can’t view subscriptions from the account page. The Subscription drop-down menu shows up for a second but doesn’t load the contents, and then disappears and is replaced by the Microsoft 365 drop-down menu. On the Xbox Website, on the support page for subscriptions & billing, it says I have no subscriptions, which doesn’t make any sense.
