Capture time

Recently my xbox will only record a few seconds of my captures. I have read that a power cycle will help it so ive done that several times and each time after the first capture is yhe length it is supposed to be, but after that the captures shorten.
Is there another thing i could try?

Hello Ethan, you can easily fix this by going into capture settings by pressing Xbox Home>Capture Menu>Capture Settings. After entering capture settings go to “Record What Happened”, From here you can choose to make it capture from 15 Seconds To 2 Minutes

Ive tried playing around with the capture times as well and it still doesnt change. Right now i have it set to 45 seconds at 720 and it still only records 15 seconds

Well this can mean your capture library is full (or nearing full.) Have you tried deleting any clips if you have any? Sometimes your capture library gets full and wont let you upload it or it will shorten the time so it doesn’t take up much space, Another
common thing is if your resolution (in your case 720p) can also cause this. If you have lower resolution some games will only record a certain amount of time due to trying to keep higher quality. if you cannot figure out the problem and you need to get it

I have this issue also im just waiting for a new update to see if this issue gets patched. if anyone knows of any way i can get my capture time to capture that exact length for example 1 min and 30 seconds long and im getting 2-3 seconds at best.

You think it's slow now... just wait until the Scorpio attempts to render your clips in 4k. lol
