    Can't use ms authentication to log into minecraft in 3rd-party launchers


    Having migrated against my will and better judgement to microsoft account, I tried to use microsoft authentication to play some goode olde modded session. This attempt was a failure, as both launchers I use, GDLauncher and Prism, couldn't load the URL for logging in. I could log in on minecraft site or here just "fine", but no dice on launchers. If there exists any way to remedy this, I would be forever grateful.

    Edit: even official launcher won't let me log in with ms account. I will never understand how they force people use this inadequate "feature" and get away with it.

    Xbox apps don't work without Xbox live.

    Live is only for authentication, after that the apps connect to the various 3rd party services. These are not delivered through the xbox live network. That's why if you are already logged in and live goes down you can still use 3rd party apps.

    I had the same problem after performing a OS re-install.
    This problem happens when you install Minecraft from the MS Store without being authenticated and I'll tell you why. After doing some tests with Wireshark I noticed the Minecraft Launcher itself loads the SVG icon from the web. So for that reason you must authenticate on the MS Store by logging in. Then you install the launcher again. You will find the icon is properly loaded.

    Minecraft Launcher is currently not available in your account. Make sure you are signed in to the Store and try again. Here’s the error code, in case you need it: 0x803F8001

    Okay so i fixed the problem...still, the vanilla minecraft wont run from "true minecraft launcher", but it will thru 3rd party launcher (such as badlion). So yea...that was my fix...
