    Can't use money on my account to buy games? Or at least backward compatible games on Xbox One?


    I have $5 on my account but when I tried to buy Black Ops 2 on Xbox One it only used my debit card. Can you not use money on your account to pay for backwards compatible games? There was no option to pay with my account funds and when I purchased it, it
    didn't prompt me to use the money on my account. I'm a little mad because I had no use for that $5 except for now.

    Xbox please fix the buying backward compatibility games bug!!!!!

    You can buy backward compatible games on the Xbox One, you just have to pay for them via Credit Card or PayPal. You just can't use account credit from your Microsoft Account for 360 games, unless you still have a Xbox 360 around.

    why is it that you can't buy backwards compatible games with your Microsoft account money but you can buy dlc content

    The store on the One/website are set up differently than the 360 store and do not recognize your Microsoft account balance as a valid payment option for 360 content. You would have to make the purchase on a 360 console in order to use the funds on your account.

    I didn't say I threw out my Xbox 360. I still have it. However, my Xbox Live account only covers my Xbox One. Therefore, certain DLCs I want, I can't have unless that game becomes backwards compatible. I also can't move from my Steam versions of the original
    Far Cry and Call of Duty unless the Classic titles become backwards compatible so I can buy, download and install them on my Xbox One. Plus, I want to eventually sell the Xbox 360 for money, but I can't until all the games I mentioned become backwards compatible.
    I think we can all agree that it would be nice for titles like these to become compatible.

    You can't as it's not a backwards compatible game.

    No more games will be added to that list at least until the next Xbox is released next year.

    Are you trying to buy One games or backwards compatible games? The Microsoft account balance cannot be used to purchase backwards compatible content on the One.
