To change your Microsoft account privacy settings, sign in to the privacy & online safety page, which you should be able to access through the page you’re referring to. You can also make these changes on an Xbox One, Series X|S console or through the Xbox Family settings app.

When adjusting any account settings, make sure to select “submit” to confirm and save these changes.

Note: If you’re using a child account, you’ll need an adult in your family to sign in to their Microsoft account to change your privacy settings.

If you're unable to play multiplayer on Minecraft Java Edition due to account restrictions, and your account is part of a Microsoft family group without an active organizer, that’s likely the issue. Child accounts can't change their own multiplayer or privacy settings; only a family organizer can do that through the Microsoft Family Portal.

If there’s no organizer listed, you won’t be able to update your settings until that’s resolved. Here’s a simple workaround:

Have a trusted adult create a new Microsoft account and sign in at https://account.microsoft.com/family.

They can then create a new family group and invite you account using your email.

Once you're added, they can go to your profile in the group and update the Xbox privacy settings to allow multiplayer gaming.

I have had my account for ~8 years, but I still do think it's odd that back then I could play multiplayer no problem, but NOW I can't.
