Can't use Game Pass Ultimate under a different account than the PC's primary account.

I set up Xbox Live about 15 years ago under what was then my Hotmail account. Since then I've gone through several email addresses and now my primary Microsoft account uses a different email address than my Xbox Live account. As such, my Gamertag/Xbox Live
account is separate from the Windows account I use to log in to Windows, use Office, etc.

I signed up for Game Pass Ultimate on my Xbox Live account (obviously) and it works fine on my Xbox. I can also create a separate user on my PC, sign in under my Xbox Live email address, and use Game Pass Ultimate on PC just fine. However, when I install the
Xbox app under my primary account, I can't use Game Pass Ultimate despite being signed in to the app with my Xbox Live account (see screenshot for clarification).

Here is what I want to do but can't:

I want to sign into Windows using my primary Microsoft account (Account #1).

I want to install the Xbox app and sign into it using my Xbox Live account (Account #2)

I want to launch the app and sign in to the app using Account #2 while signed into Windows with Account #1.

It's ridiculous that I would be expected to switch users any time I want to play a game on Game Pass Ultimate.

So you have an account with game pass ultimate and an account without it. You want to use it with both accounts and you do not see a problem here? While I understand these are both your accounts the item you want to use is tied to a specific account and
only that account can use it.

If you want there is a way to change your email address and make it primary on your account.

To change an email address you create a new alias and then once you validate that email alias is working properly you can then promote it to primary. Not sure if this will fix the issue you have with your accounts.

The new Xbox (Beta) app on PC for the Xbox Game Pass for PC, included with Game Pass Ultimate, and the Xbox Console Companion app uses the account logged into the Microsoft Store app, not Windows, for subscription and game license verifications. Log
in normally to Windows with Account #1. Then, open the Microsoft Store from your Start menu, and
in the upper right corner, click on your account picture and sign out from Account #1. Sign in to Account #2, and from there the Xbox (Beta) app should recognize Account #2 and allow you to start installing games. Make sure you are also signed in to Account
#2 on the Xbox (Beta) app, but it should automatically do it once you sign in to the right account on the Microsoft Store.

Sign in to Account #2 in the Microsoft Store and then let us know if it allows you to install games while logged into Account #1 for Windows.
