Cant upgrade to ultimate game pass due to different store region

Maybe this is due to the fact that I purchased an xbox game pass ultimate subscription earlier and then it stopped being sold in the microsoft store in my region?

I'm talking about a one month's worth of regular game pass being upgraded to ultimate if I just bought regular game pass 3 days ago and changed my mind that I wanted to upgrade to game pass ultimate why wouldnt they just charge me the difference which if regular game pass is 12 dollars after tax and ultimate is 18 why wouldnt I just be charged 6 dollars or why cant they cancel the regular game pass charge or refund it and charge me the 18 for the ultimate instead ..itd would be absolutely dumb to of just paid 12 dollars three days ago for regular game pass and then if I want to upgrade be charged a whole new 18 dollars to upgrade

Just a friendly reminder though that in upgrading to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, the store region where you purchased the Xbox Live Gold subscription should be the same store region where you're purchasing the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Since the original Xbox Game Pass was purchased in the USA, you can only upgrade to Ultimate if you are also in the USA due to subscription region locking. If you are in a different region than the USA, you cannot upgrade a USA Game Pass to Ultimate and will need to purchase a subscription within your region.

I recommend confirming that your account information, such as region and address, is correct. I also recommend taking a look at this article referencing updating Microsoft account regions.

If it is a different region how was it able to go through? Im a little confused a message should have came up about the region lock or it should not have let you add it at all? So when you try to upgrade to game pass ultimate what does it say now? You
said you cancelled your game pass ultimate because you couldn't afford it but now your adding it back??
