Can't upgrade Live Gold to Ultimate

    Can't upgrade Live Gold to Ultimate


    Hi all,

    So this is the situation I've got right now.

    While I'm waiting for Series X to be released, I purchased Live Gold Subscription (3x12months) in advance.

    So here we go. I quite easily managed to activate it and all went through better than expected. Once it was activated I tried to upgrade it to Ultimate. All steps were going easily till I reached a payment window. I chose PayPal at first and at the end someting
    went wrong and a pop up window showed up (see picure)

    Alright then, I went to my MS profile to double-check where's the problem & changed the region to a current one (as my MS account was created many years ago and I've moved to another country). I gave another try, this time I chose a credit card as a payment
    method. Same problem appeared (and I was charged for a transaction by the way as a successful one) but still couldn't get an Ultimate plan.

    Few minutes later I tried to search for a solution on Google. I have even changed my PC region, default location, region on the MS/Xbox website but I still can't go any further than that because all the time I'm getting that pop-up window even if I cleared
    all recent cache.

    Any ideas please?

    Hi there,

    since you already had Ultimate before then if you decide to upgrade to Ultimate and you currently have 12m Gold, then the 12m Gold will be converted (via a specific ratio) to Ultimate, I think it's 12m Gold convert into 4m of Ultimate, more details can be

    did you upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate after getting the code for 12 months Live Gold?

    if you upgrade it will say that the Live Gold is cancelled.

    if you did upgrade, check that your Game Pass Ultimate is active.

    if it is active then everything is working as it should be and you will still have all the features of Live Gold, but they will be under your Game Pass Ultimate subscription instead.

    Hi Randy,

    Both Xbox live gold and gamepass are included in ultimate, so you don’t need to purchase these subscriptions separately.

    On your account, you should be given the option to upgrade to ultimate, if not just purchase ultimate as this will automatically upgrade your existing membership.

    Gamepass is £7.99 a month and Xbox live gold is £6.99 a month, so worth upgrading if use both to save money and have a 2-in-1, Ultimate is £10.99

    Hi MichaelGutierrez8,

    If you had a year of Xbox Live Gold, by buying the upgrade to Ultimate your 12 months would be upgraded to Ultimate and you would not be refunded for Live Gold. You can check to see when your next payment is due via the Services
    & subscriptions     page. You should see that it covers the period of you Live Gold.

    Check out the GamePass Ultimate FAQ at the bottom of that webpage about upgrading Live Gold to Ultimate.

    xbox ultimate exchange rip off

    I you upgrade to ultimate game pass you keep all the current time on your Xbox live gold with no deductions. If you add time to Xbox live gold it will add what ever you purchase. The reduced rate is if you upgrade to Ultimate then either purchase/win/or
    are gifted Xbox live gold time when added there is a conversion rate.

    If you want to extend your Xbox live gold first then convert to ultimate it works out as the best value.
