Can't update Xbox privacy settings (in the xbox and windows 10 settings tab)

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Based on the error you are getting it is possible that the system is detecting that you own a child account.

Kindly link your account to a parent account as the organizer and use it in customizing your Privacy and security settings.

If you have a parent account that has an adult birthdate ready now please sign it in here: https://account.microsoft.com/family/ and then click on: Add a member.

Please add your account that can't access multiplayer as a member.

Once added, sign in to your email and accept the invitation.

After that please sign in the organizer/parent account here: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/user/settings/privac...

Choose your account and In Privacy & Online Safety, click Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety.

Scroll down to the second option from the bottom, stating “You can join multiplayer games“. Set this to Allow.

Click Submit to save your changes.

The privacy settings with tabs for Xbox, windows 10. Everything is set to allow except my real name.

Hi there, you can fix your privacy settings at account.xbox.com/settings if you don’t want to have any problems make sure that for the privacy tab everything is set to allow and Everybody, for Windows 10 , Xbox One and Xbox 360 everything should be set
to Allow. After that wait a few hrs. for the changes to update and you should be set.

Try updating your account's privacy settings:

1. Go to Xbox.com and sign in with your Microsoft account.

2. Click the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety tab.

3. Change all settings to Allow.
