    Can't unmute my friend


    A friend of mine got muted in Minecraft chat. He could read my messages just fine, and I thought he had just gone quiet until he messaged me on a different platform. I never muted him or opened the menu to do so. He's muted on any Minecraft game or server,
    and when I open the menu and click 'Unmute', It just mutes him again as soon as I close the menu. I've played with him plenty of times, and this is the first time there has been a issue with the chat. I've tried restarting Minecraft, the laptop I play on,
    and blocking and unblocking him. I've googled it several times, and have found several similar problems, but none with a solution. Also, I'm not sure if this is related or not, but whenever we try to talk with mics in party chat, he can hear me, but I can't
    hear him. I see his gamer pic flashing like he's talking, but I hear nothing. I seriously am trying my best to fix this, and would love some help in finding the solution! Thank You Can't unmute my friend :)

    Yeah it's happening to me and my friends, im also having a problem where I can't hear my friends even when they're unmuted.

    Hi there!

    This was an issue being looked into by the engineers but should be resolved at this time.

    If you are still running into issues be sure to power down the console, unplug it for 5 minutes, then power it back on and check again.

    You can't unfortunately. It's an XBL glitch. They are supposedly working on a fix, but it's been several days now that this problem has been going on. We should all be getting some extra XBL days on our subscriptions for this, though I don't see that happening.

    Hi Yocurtland,

    If you are still seeing this happen let's try a cold boot of the console by unplugging it for a full 5 minutes. If you are still can not unmute your friend then you will want to try a

    factory reset of the console    . Please be sure to keep your games and apps installed when asked to do so if you need to take that step.

    If you are still unable to unmute your friend then please let us know.
