Can't train pickpocket skill..?

I've gone to silda in windhelm and vipir in riften and both of them take my money but don't increase the skill. my skill level is only 36 so right i get caught far to often to want to train it just by going around picking this and that off of everyone i
see and then reloading when it fails. anyone ever have any issues like this? if so how did you manage to fix it?

i also notice that when i select the option to get training from silda or vipir the screen sort of freezes (smoke, fire, snow, people, etc. all stop moving). when i hit A to train, my gold goes down, cost goes up, and times trained at this level increases.
even the xp bar fills up when i hit A to train, but the skill level stays the same and when i go to my actual skills menu i see it hasn't changed.

**This only appears to affect my pickpocketing skill, i have not had issues training in smithing, sneaking, speech, archery, light armor or enchanting (haven't bothered trying any others since i don't really need/use them)

If you want to level your pickpocket quickly, just do as suggested above with a trainer. First make sure you're under the thief stone to increase your skills 20% faster, and then get the well rested or lovers comfort bonus as well. Go to Windhelm and find
'Silda the Unseen,' she's a pickpocket trainer. Save before you talk to her and then have her train you one level in pickpocket. After she trains you, pickpocket your money back and repeat. If she cactches you, reload. If you have all the bonuses active that
will give you 10 times trained per level (5 from the training, 5 from picking it back) and that's enough to gain a character level and let you start over. I was able to do this until my pickpocket skill hit around 50. After that point it costs so much that
it's almost impossible to pick it back unless you are putting perks in the pickpocket tree which I never did.

how do i get maria before killing benny?

I want to kill benny with maria also. You can't pickpocket it from him just like you can't pickpocket the chip

thats really weird, if you want to try boosting pickpocket, keep stealing and putting stuff back into a gaurds inventory. no im not joking, if he catches you you just pay a little gold an can try again. this is how i got mine to 100 on multiple characters
also using arrows to steal and place is easier than most other objects for some reason.

Spend money on some pickpocket training. Use potions that enhance pickpocketing. Use enchanted items that enhance pickpocketing. OR, save before attempting a pickpocket. If it works, keep going. If it fails, reload your save.

Have you ever sat down and had a think about which skills are actually worth leveling? I think you might find that with some successful pickpocketing, you won't need to train it at all.

So far I'm level 58 and have gone Legendary on Pickpocket twice, Enchanting once (nearly back at 100) and Alchemy once. They are ridiculously useful and very easy to level. In between level ups I will go to a trainer and buy training
in a skill that is slow to raise or one that I use very little until level it reaches 51 when the % to Pickpocket my gold back is near impossible.

Can't train pickpocket skill..?
