Can't talk or hear anyone on Xbox App Party Chat

i am running windows 10 and i launch the Xbox App and click Start Party Beta. Everything looks fine and shows no Error in the Party Chat. But I am not able to talk or Hear anyone in my party Chat.

Also i set my Mic as Default Recording Device as well & shows its picking up sound, also tested the sound in a skype call as well:

Is there a setting to *not* use the PC mic/headphones for party chat?

hey how did you use your mic in xbox app party chat in the first place? i launched "start a party (beta)" and it shows my mic, but i can't talk or hear anyone in the party chat. and my mic is the default recording device

 

Do I need a skype account to talk on party chat?

On the XBOX-One I can get into party chats, but I cant hear anyone talking, or I cant talk. Do I need to get a skype account to be able to hear and talk to my friends in the party chat?

I am not running the Xbox App (BETA) Version. I am running the Xbox App. I've also tried the beta Version, but that one also doesn't work.

 

Yes! I have this problem too and its really annoying!

 

I have been having this problem since I got onto windows 10. I have disabled my bit defender, turned off my vpn tried the tunnel adapter fix and still can't get this to work.

Still no sign of any official guidance from MS yet and the official xbox app does not have the network tab. So no way of making any sense of what is going on.

 

@milkman CE yea this is really annoying. im hoping its just the App itself, cause im able to record through my Mic when i use the Game DVR, so i know my mic is working with the App, but just not in Party.

@Bl4nkX Yea i tried everything 8 different Xbox Chat supports had me do, majority all the same, but had absolutely no luck. and its really dumb how it doesnt have the Network Tab on the OFFICIAL APP but yet in their trouble shooting articles they have that
as a step. But i also downloaded the Beta Version of the app to test everything there as well, and i have no errors but yet it still doesnt work.

Im having a similar issue. I can hear ppl in party chat but canr be heard. So is this a hardware or software issue?

 

I have had this problem only since installing the Beta App. It has affected the normal Xbox App with the same.

I have reported this on the Report Feature in the App.

FYI - I do not use the controller plugged into the Laptop via USB. As my laptop is in the same room as the Xbox I use my normal controller which is connected to the Xbox.

I can hear and talk okay when I click Stop Streaming. When I start streaming the other people in my party come through the laptop speakers not my headphone speakers and they can not hear me.

I have the exakt same problem. I have tried to start party chat but it does not work. I can't talk and can't hear others. Headset works perfect with Skype and teamspeak. Headset is set to default com-device for both input and output. I use Win 10. Headset
is plantronics Voyager legend

 

Ok, I will let you know that I have this issue, but will also let you know that this issue seems to be with audio output from the app as if it does not exist. I can speak through it which people in the party can receive as I have confirmed through party
members via phone, but I cannot hear any voice from members via app. Sitting here as I play games, speak with Cortana, speak with people & hear their voice through various speaking software. The only voice problem I have on whole system is from the App.

 

Will also let you all know that the icons light up as if something should be happening, but don't. If any resolution please let me know. Thanks, Sweat
