Can't stream music from android

    Can't stream music from android


    I have always been able to stream music from my phone to my xbox one console using the stannard Samsung music app and the groove music app on my xbox. Recently groove received an update and now it won't let me stream music to the xbox via WiFi share can anyone explain this and a possible workaround because I like being able to listen to music through my turtle beach headphones and now I can't ��

    Please do not suggest downloading to my xbox hdd or a USB stick as my phone is my media storage device and has over 1000 tracks and as I said this issue has only happened since the groove music update

    You can always use dlna

    Usually any app has sharing options miracast dlna mediacenter etc

    Dlna is most likely the easiest option mediacenter only if you use a pc

If you are still experiencing issues, please submit a report using the Report a Problem feature on your console as soon as the error happens again. This will help the Xbox team investigate with a deeper understanding of the cause. For category you can choose Apps > Groove Music.



    Please make sure to add a detailed description of the problem in the Description box.

    The only work around I can suggest is to get a Wireless headset that can connect to both the Xbox and other devices via Bluetooth like the Xbox Wireless Headset.

    Stopping Groove music

    In your mums music app/music player there is usually an option (on Android at least) to cast to or to play on another device. Usually it can stream music to other devices on the local network. You'll need to unpair or delete your Xbox from her streaming
    devices on her phone.

    I've tried it with my Android, it's not detected either. I searched a few other threads and forums, apparently nobody else can do it either, so I assume they're not supported devices yet.

    You could copy your music to a USB drive or disc and play it that way, or an easier way would be to stream the music from your Android device to your Xbox, which I believe is possible.
