Can't stream games to Xbox app when connected television turned off

Hi, I'm trying to stream Xbox One games at home over Wi-Fi. It works well until I turn off the television that the Xbox is directly connected to. When I turn off the TV, the streaming client suddenly experienced "connection problems" and disconnects from
the streaming Xbox, even though the Xbox itself is still on. Is there a workaround or fix for this behavior? Being able to stream games to another device without having to leave the TV on all the time would seem like a pretty obvious use case to support.

    :)

Bug: Xbox App cannot turn on Xbox if you turn the Xbox from within the console's menu

First let me say that this Xbox app streaming capability is a dream come true. I have played Xbox in my bed, in random rooms of the house, and even in the bathroom. I'm posting my findings in the forums to help improve the software. Let me know if there's
a better place to submit these issues.

If the Xbox One's power mode is set to "instant on", and you turn off the Xbox from the "More->Turn Off" option in the Xbox App for Windows 10, the Xbox App detects when the Xbox One has completed shut down, so the "Turn Off" option changes to "Turn On,"
and the Xbox One can be remotely turned on Again.

Issue: However, if one is streaming via the app, holds down the Xbox One controller's home button until the shutdown menu appears, and selects "turn console off," the Xbox app disconnects the streaming, but doesn't detect when the Xbox One has turned off.
Therefore, rather than revealing a "Turn on" button, the Xbox App only shows a "connect" button next to the name of my Xbox One. So when I click on "connect," the Xbox app fails to connect and asks me to make sure the Xbox One is still on and connected to
    the network.

The current workaround is to close the Xbox App and open it again, so that the "turn on" option becomes available again.

How to Get Xbox One to Turn TV Off with Voice Command

Does anyone here know how I can get my Xbox One to turn my TV off with the voice command? Its already connected to my TV as I can mute the volume, turn up the volume. But when I say Xbox Turn Off TV or Television, it doesn't do anything.

    Hello!

I tested mine and if I stream my Xbox one to my laptop, turn of the TV, it continues to work on my laptop without any issues. Are there any settings on your TV that interact with your Xbox? You could try disabling those settings. Is your Xbox on wifi or
is it wired in via an Ethernet cable?

The Xbox itself is wired directly to the router, and my streaming client is connected to the router via Wi-fi. I'm not aware of any settings on the TV that interact with the Xbox in a way that would cause this behavior. It's almost as if the Xbox stops
rendering and transmitting an image when the TV is off. My TV is an LG B6 65" and I'm using an Xbox One X, if that information is helpful at all.

I also have a PS4 Pro connected to the television, and I have no problems using Remote Play when the TV is off.

  7. The streaming works best when both the xbox and your streaming client have a wired connection.

Yes, I know, but this isn't an issue that can be chalked up to an intermittent Wi-fi connection. Like I said, streaming over Wi-fi works perfectly well until the television is turned off, at which point the streaming connection is dropped completely. It's
    100% reproducible.

    Hello AbsolutPauer!

This type of issue would depend also on the TV that is being used and the way it is configured. Please take a look at the steps here:

Troubleshooting Xbox app game streaming on Windows 10

It sounds like when the TV is being turned off it sends a signal to the console letting it know that there is no display available so you lose connection on your PC. Xbox One consoles normally do not boot all the way up unless they are connected to a compatible
display. You may want to contact the manufacturer of the TV to see if there is any setting available to disable its communication with connected devices.

Please let me know if this helps and thank you for reaching out!
