Can't Speak In Game Chat

Hey everyone!

For the last week, I have not been able to speak or hear anybody in game chat in any game that I play. However, when I get into a party and play with friends, my mic works completely fine.

Here is what I know through some experimenting (for context: Xbox#1
is mine, Xbox#2 is my brothers)

My mic does not work in Game Chat on Xbox#1

My mic works in Party Chat on Xbox#1

My mic works in Game Chat and Party Chat on Xbox#2

This issue persists on all accounts on Xbox#1, but the same accounts work on Xbox#2

I have tried three different combinations of headsets and controllers on Xbox#1 but
none will let me speak or hear others in Game Chat

So through some experimenting, I believe that something is up with the settings on my Xbox which is prohibiting me from speaking in Game Chat. I've checked everything that I know of, and have read different forums, but cannot find a solution to my problem.
Although I haven't changed any settings on my TV, could my TV be the issue?

Hello! I had problems like that in RB6, try to clear the console cache and synchronize the control again, does this happen in just one game or with everyone?

Hi there I do believe it is a known issue currently and they are working on it. I noticed when this happens to me if I leave party make sure nothing is downloading on any device it seems to help it a bit. But as I said I do think it is a known issue that
should be fixed soon. Hope this helps in some way and I hope you, your family and friends are safe and well during these difficult times.

And i cant remember where to do this or not, or even if its still a thing anymore, but there was an option to test microphones on the xbox as well...also might want to check if the microphone itself is working properly (specifically the microphone)

The easiest way to tell if it is a communications ban from microsoft is to try and start a party if you get an error message that says basically because of your past behavior try doing something else or sometimes it will actually pop up a message saying
that your communications has been suspended till a certain date. Either one of these will tell you for sure that it is a suspension on Microsofts side of things.

Or you could just sign into enforcement.xbox.com with your account and it would tell you if you have an active suspension and how long it is for.
