Can't sign up for Xbox Game Pass for PC

My PC has the required updates for Win 10, it's set up to handle graphics intensive games and I was able to download, install and open the beta Xbox for PC app.

Unfortunately, when I try to sign up for the actual game pass within the (beta) Xbox app by hitting the button for the selection I want, a pop-up window appears for a split second then drops. There's no other action, no indication of anything else
I have to do and nothing in my subscriptions.

I've done all the usual trouble shooting, restarting, checking for the update, manually loading the update (even through I knew I had it), manually adding that Xbox identifier app for PC (it's already there, confirmed by the "Store").

Any thoughts, suggestions to make this work? Thanks

You can try to subscribe through the website instead of the app.

Not sure about other regions, but for NZ, it forces you to install the app. However I was able to subscribe to it via Microsoft Store. The Xbox (Beta) app wouldn't even sign me in - it just doesn't do anything when I click on Sign In.

Did you sign up to Xbox GamePass for PC or for Console? If you signed up for Xbox GamePass for Console , some games, specifically play anywhere games are still playable on PC. You need to sign up for either GamePass on PC or GamePass Ultimate to access

It isn't a play anywhere title. You would either need to purchase it for PC or sign up for Game Pass Ultimate/Game Pass PC beta. Seeing as there is an offer on, it may be worth signing up

Now it all depends on what you are gaming on. If you are only using a PC, you will only need Game Pass PC (beta) Your PC will need to be running the latest Windows 10 update of 1903. If it can't install, then your PC doesn't meet the minimum standard.

If you are gaming on a console, signing up for Game Pass Ultimate is the cheapest option, as it gives you Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold in one cheaper package, with the bonus of Game Pass PC (beta) thrown in.

You will need a valid payment method (as stated) credit/debit card etc for the reoccurring monthly payments.
