Can't sign out from Amazon Video App

    Hey gang,

I can't sign out of the Amazon Video app. Get an error saying to try again later and error code IN0212. I have been in touch with Amazon support, but while they think I made a new observation. I have two Xbox Ones and this error only occurs on one,
so it now appears that it is unique to this one device. Bottom line, I was simply trying to switch which Amazon account was displayed by the app (different video library). On the working Xbox one, I have one Amazon account linked with a specific Xbox
Live profile, which changes if I switch profiles. However on the "broken" one, the same amazon account persists between Xbox live accounts and won't let me sign out. I have deregistered all devices from that Amazon account, have uninstalled the Amazon app,
have hard restarted the Xbox. Each time, upon reinstall of the App, it is automatically logged in to the wrong account. So the user data is persisting somehow.

So assuming that Amazon comes back and tells me "this is an Xbox problem, please contact Microsoft", I'm getting ahead of the curve and asking now. Why would this user data persist like this and how do I clear it out? How can uninstalling and hard resetting
a device not clear out cached data and not let me sign in fresh with a "new" account on this app?

    Any ideas would be helpful.

    Thanks

    :)

Amazon Instant Video: Multiple Xbox Live accounts, multiple Amazon accounts

I figured out how to do this without rebooting after seeing
    this page
    .

    1.) Boot up Xbox One

2.) Sign into my Xbox Live Gold account

3.) Start up Amazon Instant Video

4.) Watch video X purchased with my Amazon account

5.) Go to Xbox home screen

6.) Sign out of my Xbox Live Gold profile

7.) Sign into my wife's Xbox Live Gold profile

8.) Select Amazon Instant Video tile on home screen

    9.) Press "Menu"

    10.) Select "Quit"

11.) Start up Amazon Instant Video

12.) Watch video Y purchased with my wife's Amazon account

I still think using the "Switch User" functionality in the application should load the new user's Amazon account from their profile. I don't see much purpose of having the Switch User function if it doesn't.

Amazon Instant Video: Multiple Xbox Live accounts, multiple Amazon accounts

My wife and I each have our own Xbox Live Gold accounts. We also have our own Amazon accounts. On our Xbox One, we have the Amazon Instant Video app installed. In this app, my Xbox Live Gold profile is linked to my Amazon account, and her Xbox Live Gold
profile is linked to her Amazon account.

However, once you start the app, there appears to be no way to switch from the currently authenticated Amazon account without rebooting the console. The following is what we have to do to switch Amazon accounts:

    1.) Boot up Xbox One

2.) Sign into my Xbox Live Gold account

3.) Start up Amazon Instant Video

4.) Watch **** purchased with my Amazon account

    5.) Turn off Xbox One

6.) Boot up Xbox One again

7.) Sign into my wife's Xbox Live Gold account

8.) Start up Amazon Instant Video

9.) Watch video Y purchased with my wife's Amazon account

From my perspective, the following SHOULD work, but currently does NOT:

    1.) Boot up Xbox One

2.) Sign into my Xbox Live Gold account

3.) Start up Amazon Instant Video

4.) Watch **** purchased with my Amazon account

    5.) Press Start

    6.) Select "Switch User"

7.) Sign into my wife's Xbox Live Gold account

8.) Watch video Y purchased with my wife's Amazon account

After step 7 here, my Amazon account would still be the one authenticated in the app, even though we have switched to my wife's Xbox Live Gold account.

Has anyone gotten this to work? It seems like a bug to us.

    amazon app

    Hey GAUV,

I'll post the link again this way:
    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/apps/amazon-instant-video-setup

"To watch Amazon Instant Video content on your console, you need:

    • To be signed into an Xbox Live
    • At least 75 megabytes (MB) of available storage space"

"Install the Amazon Instant Video app

    1. From Xbox Home, go to Apps, and then select Browse Apps.
    2. Browse or search for Amazon.
    3. Select Amazon to download the app. Once downloaded, the Amazon Instant Video app automatically starts.
To start Amazon Instant Video later, go to Video, My Video Apps, and then select
    Amazon."

If you still can't see the app then I would recommend to
    clear the console system cache.

It appears that Amazon does have an app for the Xbox 360 according to the FAQs regarding this question.

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/apps/amazon-instant-video-setup

Install the Amazon Instant Video app

    1. From Xbox Home, go to Apps, and then select Browse Apps.
    2. Browse or search for Amazon.
    3. Select Amazon to download the app. Once downloaded, the Amazon Instant Video app automatically starts.
To start Amazon Instant Video later, go to Video, My Video Apps, and then select Amazon.

    games and apps not working

Some more info, adding to my above comment:

As an experiment, I turned off "automatic sign-in", then turned my console off and back on. I exited the sign-in prompt without signing in, and found that all of the squares in the "games" and "TV & movies" sections loaded. I then went to the "my video
apps" section and launched the Amazon Instant Video app, which launched fine, but asked me to sign-in to Xbox Live, which I did, and the app proceeded to work as normal. I then exited Amazon Instant Video, which took me back to the "my video apps" section,
from which I launched Netflix, and it worked properly too.

But I then went back to the main dashboard and found that now that I had signed in, the upper two squares in the right columns of the "games" and "TV & movies" sections no longer loaded (just showed spinning circles, as described in my earlier comment above)
and then I could no longer load Amazon Instant Video (console gets stuck on a black screen).

I've tried this twice now and got the same results: it seems that as long as I don't go to the "games" or "TV & movies" sections while signed in, so that I avoid trying to load the problematic squares while I'm signed in, then I can launch the video apps
from the "my video apps" section (the first app I launch will ask me to sign in, but as long as I then stay within the "my video apps" section, I can launch any app in that section without encountering the black screen problem).
