Can't sign in to your profile in 360 emulator on the Xbox One? Check this.

The issue is:

When you start a 360 title that is backwards compatible on the Xbox One, you get to the start screen of your game, and you are not logged in automatically.

You go to the sign in screen and try to sign in, but you get the error that you are not connected to Xbox Live. This then gives you the option to test connection, which brings you to the Xbox One network settings screen that shows you are connected.

The problem now becomes: you don't have your save data, you can't create save data

If you have tried everything else first (hard reset, cold boot, resetting modem/router, etc.) I believe I found a work around.

1. Go into the network settings menu of your console.

2. Go to advanced settings.

3. Under Advanced settings, take note of the following information:

IP Address (Usually 192.168.x.x)

Subnet mask (Usually 255.255.255.0)

Gateway (Usually 192.168.x.x)

DNS IP address(s)

4. Under Advanced settings, change the IP and DNS settings from automatic to manual and enter in the information you noted above.

5. Hard reset your console by pressing and holding the power button for 10 full seconds until it shuts down.

6. Boot your console back up and try to load your 360 game.

7. Enjoy?

You should be signed in automatically but if you are not, press both the menu and view button at the same time.

Once your profile syncs with that game, you can change your IP settings back to auto and it will still work!

Did that work for you? If it didn't please list any issues you are having.

A few other things you can try include: switching from wired, to wireless connection (and vice versa)

Tried this, still getting "sorry this profile can't connect to xbox live on this console. To fix it download it again." Message when I try to play halo wars.

Is it working and synced now that you downloaded your profile again? After you set the IP settings, you can set back to auto and it should still work

I already tried but it didn't work. When I first launch an xbox 360 game, the ''Getting your Xbox 360 info" message appeard and it actually filled the white bar. But since I did a reset factory like TheycallmeBlitz told me to, now every time I start a 360
game, that message appears but nothing fills the gauge and I can't even connect to live to download my profile.

Is the 360 backward compatibility broken?

I have resolved the problem, I just modified the xbox 360 emulator configuration in the network settings. Just go in the network settings by insert the ip address in the url bar of your browser, then search in the connected devices via wi fi the xbox 360
emulator (in my case it is: dhcppc2) and set from generic device to gaming console and check the box "allowed on wlan" if not checked. The network settings may be different on different routers (mine is Technicolor MediaAccess TG788vn v2). I hope I was helpful

I can choose the sign in button but my account isn’t on the 360 emulator (because a possible solution was to remove the profile off of the xbox one and 360 emulator) so it directs me to download a profile. when this problem first started happening my
account was on the 360 emulator but if I chose to sign in it would say it couldn’t connect to Xbox live so it couldn’t sign me into my profile.

If you continue to have sign in problems on the emulated Xbox 360, try the following:

Go to the settings and under storage, clear the Xbox 360 local storage.

Then launch any Xbox 360 game, and press both the Menu and View buttons (the small buttons next to the Xbox button). Then download your profile again.

Provide your Microsoft Account email and Password. Should you use Two Step Verification (and you should), then go to

https://account.live.com/Proofs/Manage and create an app password. Use that app password instead of your regular password to sign in on the Xbox 360.

The status of your Home Console setting has no meaning on the emulated Xbox 360, as the (emulated) Xbox 360 doesn't have the concept of Home Console sharing.

The Xbox One program that launches the Xbox 360 emulator already checked, if the license to launch the backwards compatible game is there.

Couple things to keep in mind.

1. On the one the emulator should automatically sign you into whatever profile you are signed into when you load the game up although there are a couple things that can prevent this from happening.

a. Your password is longer than 16 characters. The emulators on the Ones and 360s do not like passwords longer than 16 characters all you would have to do is change your password to something less than 16 characters.

b. If you have changed your gamer tag recently you would need to redownload your profile to the emulator and any 360 that you have had it on previously to redownload your profile on the emulator follow these directions.

1. Load any backwards compatible game.

2. Hit the start and select buttons (small round buttons on either side of the big xbox button on the controller) at the same time.

3. This will bring up the 360 guide there would be a choice there to download profile.

4. Click on this and enter in your email and password this will redownload your profile.

c. If you have two step verification turned on. The 360 systems including the emulator on the Ones do not play well with 2 step verification. You can either turn this off or use your app password to sign in with.

Hi,

Thank you for your help, but after I select to download a profile, appears a message saying "can't connect to xbox live".

When I open the xbox guide menu, in the home tab appears "sign in (0 profiles)".

It seems the emulator is not recognizing my xbox one profile, because is not being able to connect to xbox live.

I tried with a different game but it didn't work either...

If I buy a 2nd hand xbox 360, is it possible to create a offline profile, put it in a USB stick and connect to the xbox one? and will the emulator be able to use that 360 profile through the manage storage option in the xbox guide home tab?
