Can’t sign in to a account with 2fa but my friends can.

My friend gave me and a two other friends information to an an account he owns so we can play games he owns but the account has 2fa connected to a phone number he no longer has access to and when I try to sign it says “enter a security code” but for my other two friends they were able to sign in without that popping up. Does anyone know why that is?

Note that sharing Microsoft account details with others is against Microsoft ToS and may result in an account ban. The most common way that account theft occurs on the Xbox network is when someone shares their Microsoft account email and password with others.

The account holder can remove the 2FA method from account.microsoft.com, under the Security menu.

I can sign in through Microsoft, and I do have 2fa enabled, I used the auto-generated “app password” to sign in, and it says I can’t connect to Xbox live but the internet test still says I can

I can sign in into my microsoft account on my PS4, but i can’t see my world or my friend’s realm. Very strange.

It’s not that there is someone in my account, the hacker used a script to lock my account, he showed me it, then the next day it’s locked and I can’t get in because it says i have 2fa on.

Yes my account is 2fa. I even tried signing in with an app password or whatever it's called .
