Can’t sign in or download my profile on Xbox 360

I can’t make purchases on xbox360 console, I can make purchase on my computer for xbox 360 games, but I can’t play them cause I can’t sign in to xbox profiles or gametags

Please try this:

Go here: https://account.microsoft.com/security with the account that you want to use on Xbox 360

Then press advance security options and scroll down to the bottom

Are you able to see something like "app passwords"?

If not, please please enable 2 step verification

After that sign out and sign in and go here again https://account.microsoft.com/security > advanced security options scroll down until you see the "app password" option.

(If possible try using a different device to check this.)

Now please press on "create new app password" then, write that password instead of the actual one in your console

Thanks for the update, yes... In the past the Xbox 360 system supported password with 14 characters or less.

I managed to download my profile again!

I used what you wrote, but it didn’t work at the beginning and I found out why. I used more than 16 digit password and the Xbox 360 did not like it!

Awesome now I can play some co-op with my mate!

Today I already tried this password change with 2 factor authentication method. Every time I try to log in on the Xbox 360 the following messages comes up.

‘The email and password didn’t work, try it again or use your app password…

Code:8015D002

I think tomorrow I need to call the customer service to ask them to find out what’s going on. The funny thing is that around 6month ago I had the same issue and I had to call them to fix it, it was something their end what prevented me to log in.

I know such a hassle for a dead platform like the 360. Oh well we just wanted to have some nostalgia game party! Perhaps I go over for a system link instead?
