Can’t sign in after forced factory reset

So as the title says, my Xbox one factory reset itself after an update and at one point during the reset, it says that if I already have a Microsoft account, I can use that now to sign back in. But i don’t know what I’m supposed to do as it won’t accept anything but an email, phone no. etc and that just starts the setting up for a new account.

I read that a factory reset only wipes the device but everything is still on your Microsoft account. Is this true? If so does anyone know how to sign back in? Also I literally can’t click anything on my Xbox as it insists on me creating a new account so I’m stuck on the setting up options.

    :)

If you enter the E-Mail Adress, Phone Number or Skype name of an already exisitng Microsoft Account, it will prompt you to login with your password.
You'll only get prompted to create a new Account, if you enter data without an associated Microsoft Account.
Your Purchased Games, Save Data, Achievements etc. are all safely stored on your Microsoft Account. They are available to you after signing in.

Can’t sign in to Xbox profile after factory reset

    Hello Herminator95,

Welcome to the Xbox Community Forum. Thank you for sharing your concern with us today and we hope that all is well.

We understand that you are experiencing the error code 0x8027025a when attempting to sign into your console. Let us look into this together to get you back to gaming.

    Please try these suggestions:

    Power Cycle your Router

Power your router off and unplug its power cord from the power outlet and allow the router to sit unplugged for a few minutes. As you wait for the capacitors in the router to discharge, check to see whether anything is blocking signal to and from the router and remove it.

Check our Xbox Live Server Status

After about 3-5 minutes, plug the router back in and power it on. Allow it enough time to boot up. Now, connect to the internet and open your preferred web browser. Next, visit our Live Service Status page to view the status of our Xbox Live Services.

If our Servers are up and working as expected, please check if you have any ongoing downloads that may be causing bandwidth issues with your internet. If you do not have anything that could cause bandwidth issues, please proceed with these troubleshooting steps.

    Reboot the Console

If you are still experiencing the error code after power-cycling your router, a quick reboot of your console may fix the issue.

From your Xbox home screen, navigate to "Settings". Next, select the "Turn Off or Restart" option. You can access these options from the right side of the screen. Finally, select "Restart" and then "Yes" to confirm the operation.

    Configure Region Settings Correctly

On rare occasions, you may encounter this error message because the region settings on your console are not configured correctly. To remedy this, open the "Settings" menu and then select "All settings". Next, navigate to "System" and then "Language and Location". From the displayed list of locations, select your region.

When this is completed, select the "Reset Now" option to apply the changes.

    Clear Persistent Storage

Go to "Settings" and then "Disc and Blu-Ray". Next, navigate to "Persistent Storage" and then select "Clear Persistent Storage". This deletes some of the local cache on your console.

    Clear Alternate MAC Address

Go to "Settings" and then "Network" and "Advanced Settings". Select "Alternate MAC Address" and then "Clear". After clearing the Alternate MAC Address, your console will reboot. After the reboot, see if the issue is resolved.

If the issue persists after following all of these steps, we recommend that you contact Xbox Support directly as they can provide 1:1 support that we in the Forums cannot.

We look forward to your response. Kindly let us know if these suggestions help by selecting “Yes” or “No” next to “Was this response helpful?”. Additionally, if there is any misunderstanding or clarification needed, please reply to this response.

    Sincerely,

    XBF – Evie

Can’t sign in to Xbox profile after factory reset

I eventually got in to work with the help of an Xbox expert. My external hard drive was malfunctioning and that was causing the problem.

Can't sign in after Factory reset

    Hello there!

Regarding your case, I recommend that you try the following steps provided below:

The following troubleshooting step will help you clear out your MAC address:

Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it and the console should restart. It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.

If the issue still persists after going through the troubleshooting steps mentioned, I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 10-15 seconds plug all your cables back in and then restart your console.

In case the issue still persists, the next step would be to perform a reset on the console. To do so you will need to follow the steps below to perform a reset on the Xbox :

Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

I wish you a lovely day, and I hope this helps you out! All the best!
