Can't set Fdrive as install location for Game Pass

So I ran the unlocker, renamed the folder DeleteApps and the unlocker said the folder was not locked.
Then I tried to delete it but I get an error when deleting, saying the folder is no longer located in the F drive.

If that does not work there are several other ways to delete this folder. I can not post detailed instructions at the moment, but I've had luck with a free third party app called IObit Unlocker

Mare sure you choose 'unlock and rename' rather than delete as it will probably fail.

Once it's renamed you can delete it later. Suggest you try that first.

The third option is to boot to a free version of Linux from a bookable USB drive and delete it from there. Linux does not care about protected Windows folders.

This guide doesn't work for me, I can't follow the first steps of uninstalling the apps in WindowsApps on my Fdrive because it doesn't see that there are apps there.
I should have at least 3 games from Game Pass, but none show up in Apps & Features.

Ignore the first part of the guide as it doesn't apply in your case. Taking ownership of the folder and then deleting it will remove the games/apps.

Windows Games from both from the PC Game Pass and the Windows Store install differently to any other PC download service such as Steam, GoG, Origin etc as they go into a protected folder.

Error code 0x80070005 is a Windows 'Access denied' error code.



All Windows 10 games and Apps from the Windows Store (including games from PC Game Pass) install to secure encrypted folder called 'WindowsApps'. On the C:\ drive the WindowsApps folder is located in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps. But to see this folder you'll need to unhide it.



For any other drive, the WindowsApps folder can be found in the root directory along with two other folders 'WpSystem' and WUDownloadCache. So for example, if your drive is F:\ it will be located in F:\WindowsApps. This folder is not hidden on other drives, but it is still encrypted and protected.



If you've have installed Windows 10 again from scratch, your previous WindowsApps folder will no longer be accessible and Windows 10 will not be able to install Windows Store Apps and games to this drive until your old WindowsApps folder is deleted. This is why Windows 10 generates the 0x80070005 error code.



Please follow this guide to help you delete your current WindowsApps folder. Once done you will also need to the delete the previously mentioned 'WpSystem' and 'WUDownloadCache' folders.

I renamed it to Old put it in another folder and it still gets an error when trying to delete saying this is not longer located in, which ever folder its in.
I also still cant switch where new apps will save to. It still says this drive has apps from another device, then hits an error trying to delete them.

Ill try the Ubuntu method next and see if that ends up working.
