Can't Send or See Messages in the App

Hi,

I contacted Microsoft twice now, and no one has been able to give me an answer, so I'm hoping someone here will be able to.

The app itself is working fine, but I can't see any messages in my feed, nor can I send any messages any way I try. Again, I've tried everything that Microsoft has told me to do, but nothing has worked so far.

Can't send messages on Microsoft App

so I downloaded the Microsoft Xbox app and created an account. I added my boyfriend and my friends on the app but it won't let me send messages. It gives me a link to try and all it does it tell me to try adding my phone number and then signing back in.
I've already done that but it still won't let me send them. Attached is the error message.

 

Messages can't send XB1 App?

So after the update for the app that came out a less than a day ago I can't send messages to my friend. When I type and press enter a pop-up window appears saying: "Change privacy settings for communication, something went wrong", and then in the chat window
it says "you are not allowed to send messages in this group", even though it's just private messaging, not a group message.

I've scoured ALL OVER the internet and there are NO solutions anywhere. Obviously, I've looked at all my settings, but nothing has changed other than the update for the app. What can I do? It's very frustrating!!

I'm in the preview program, I assume he isn't. I should also be up-to-date with both the app and the Xbox.
