Can't send or receive messages - Xbox Live

Hello,

I can't send or receive messages on Xbox live. This happens on console, the app, and on Windows 10.

When i try to send a message it says "Something went wrong. Message didn't send."

This has been happening for two weeks. I have already went to the reputation check website, I am in good standing. All of my security information is correct and up to date.

Until about two weeks ago, I hadn't used my account for about 1 1/2 years. Back then, I had no issues with messages. I have removed my account from the console and signed back in and the issue persists.

I have a feeling that my account is somehow glitched, perhaps due to inactivity? I did maintain a gold subscription the whole time. Also, I am not a child account.

I'm normally pretty good at fixing my own issues, and i actually used to work for Xbox support back in the 360 days. I'm at a loss and I feel like this is an issue that may need to be escalated beyond regular troubleshooting.

Please advise of any further steps to try.

Have you thoroughly checked your privacy and online safety settings? Is there a chance that the settings may be restricting your communication? You can also check at
Xbox Live Policy Enforcement site to make sure there is not active enforcement action. Please let us know with a reply how it goes!

course of action would be to Request
a Callbackfrom one of our Xbox Support Specialists since they are the best equipped, tool wise, to look into the account itself and get this ironed out as we here
on forums do not have access to accounts. Give it a shot and let us know how it goes.
