    When did it start asking for the phone number to be verified? Have you tried signing in on account.microsoft.com to make sure all the information is correct? Have you previously verified
    the account?

    I know as an Insider I have to use the Beta app for things to work properly. Do you have the right app as there is generally two in the store to download.

    Same with me. I tried everything but I still cant message on the xbox app. I need help, if anyone can tell me how to fix it ill be greatly appreciated.

    I tried uninstalling it then downloading the beta version, it is working for me right now, if you haven’t tried that then try it.

    Check the app store for updates on the app.

    If it doesn't need to update, go to home settings and change the name of your Xbox.

    Then reconnect the app after you change the name. This helps me reconnect if thats an issue.

    Uninstalling the app and reinstalling on your devices can fix some issues as well.
