Can't send messages to people.

Hi recently I couldn't send messages to people and it says go to xbox support in the Microsoft app in the xbox one. I tired to go and I did that now and I still can't send messages and my redemption in xbox live is good.

Do you have a Gold subscription. If so try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

What Exactly does the message say? Does it give an error code?

Have you tried a normal Hard restart? Holding the power button for 10 seconds and letting it fully shut down before booting it back up? Also making sure you have Xbox Gold?
