Can't see email on child xbox account

Hi there everyone,

My younger sister has a child Xbox account (With her actual age, not an adult account). While she is logged into this account on the console, she cannot see her email on the home screen (In the top left corner, under her name). I have gone into the settings and found the checkbox for this, and the box is greyed out. I can't turn it on.

For a while I thought it was just a child account thing, but our younger cousin has a child account also, and this one has his email on the home screen.

Obviously this is a minor issue, because it doesn't affect the use of the account. I'm just a very particular person, and if anyone could help I would really appreciate it

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

To fix this, kindly remove and re-add the account by following the steps below:

REMOVE ACCOUNT

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select System > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.

3. Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm.

4. When you're finished, select Close.

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

ADD ACCOUNT

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select your gamerpic in the upper-left corner of the screen, move all the way down and select Add new.

3. Enter the Email address and the password.

4. Read the Microsoft Service Agreement and Privacy Statement, and then select I Accept.

5. Follow the steps to configure your Sign-In & Security preferences to add your Microsoft account to your Xbox console.

Once the account is back, kindly follow the steps below to enable it:

"1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Sign-in, security & passkey.

3. Under Show on Home, you'll see the email or phone number you use to sign in. You can enable the setting for your account info to show on your Home screen."

I don't see anything for that in the settings you posted. it's a very confusing situation.

That's odd because on the Xbox privacy settings there is no specific setting in regards to showing email. Only showing real name, etc.

That also didn't work.

It may be helpful to note that adult accounts on this Xbox show the email like normal. The issue is with the child account.

That's odd. We may need to reset the console keeping games and apps. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Reset and keep my games & apps.
