Can't scratch code for new game

I just purchased a new xbox one console bundle today which comes with a downloadable Halo 5 game. The silver paint on the card that covers the code was nearly impossible to scratch and I was only able to reveal about half of the digits and scratched too
hard and removed the other half. This was a case of press down slightly too little and the paint won't scratch off, press down slightly too much and you remove the digits.

I bought this console as a bundle to get the game with it and will return it if I can't get the game under the consumer's guarantee act of New Zealand. I would much prefer a resolution where I can get the downloadable content I paid for, please help.

The game card may have a code for both the game and DLC. Please check for other cards or scratch the entire area (if it is a scratch card) to reveal more codes.

that's odd. my older games are covered with scratches, like CoD 4, but they still run like brand new.

Hey there pajamian,

I am sorry you're experiencing this, I will try my best to help you!

First thing's first, I would go to the local store in which you bought the xbox one console bundle as well as the receipt and the scratch off code and show them.

Im not sure if they will give you an entire code/card scratch off or if they would replace the bundle entirely. However, I would go back and show them what happened. Im sure they'll be able to replace it.

mate I have got the same trouble but the problem is I didn't get mine from a shop as my code come from a seller off ebay in the post and did the same thing as you now I have £60 worth of code I can't use what can I do

All games are digital and will be located on scratch cards found within the box. Find those cards, scratch them and enter the codes to download the games.

Barrel - There are 2 code on your scratch card. Please scratch the entire area to find the game download code.

On that card for the new game, on the reverse there should be a large grey area. Scratch that lightly to reveal a code. Be sure to scratch off the whole area as some cards contain multiple codes.

Then you just redeem it/them on the console.

Most stores don't accept returns on Scratch Cards aswell.

I bought 1600 Microsoft points from GameStop to buy Trials Evo back when it first launched. The card was brand new, wasn't pre scratched or anything. And when I put the code in I got a (code already has been activated) and game stop being itself, won'accept

returns from scratch cards post scratch. So I essentially incinerated $20. Apparently that "is impossible" if they print out the codes on a receipt or email message

I purchased a Microsoft Xbox Live Gift card for 50 dollars. Came home scratched the redemption code to hard and the last 2 digits are not readable. It can't be returned and so far after many attempts the online support has not provided any assistance. I need a new redempton code.

If the code was from a secondhand game and already scratched then there's nothing you can do about it, if it was a new code you can call Xbox Live Support by phone and have it checked out.
