    Can't run lastgen games from ext hdd on series s?


    Got a 4tb external to move between my one x and series s. Any game that has a next gen patch (Forza horizon 5, re 2&3 remakes) won't let me play the last gen version of that game on the series s from the hard drive. It forces me to reinstall the next gen version. How do I stop this to play them. I know it's last gen, I know it loads slow etc. Storage>load times. Is there no way to be like stop it! Play the Xbox one version and leave it alone. Thanks in advance

    Unfortunately nope. If a game is compatible with smart delivery you're going to receive the best version of the game compatible with your console

    This means, for example if you purchase Halo infinite Xbox one version and you insert the disc into a Series X console. As this title has the smart delivery feature, the system is going to install the Xbox Series X/S (enhanced) version

    Smart delivery can't be disabled.

    PS: right now the only way to play Xbox series X/S from an external drive is using the Seagate expansion card

    What do I do if my Xbox won’t let me have no more then 4. Games and I have a external storage but it keeps making me move all my games

    series s and x games can only run from the internal storage or official (rip off) expansion card. only xbox one and 360 bc games can run off the external hdd.

    If it's achievement or ingame issue you need to reach out to the developer

    We also need to know which games series s/x also

    Keep in mind series s or x games can't run on normal hdds it has to be the storage card or internal memory for that
