Can’t rent movie

Yes, I’ve tried all the troubleshooting steps and now I can’t finish watching the last 10 minutes of my rented movie?

@trevorduncan, I wanted to shout out and see if you had any luck solving the problem or any new information? We would especially like to know if the movie playback is from DVDs you rented (we assumed no), what rental service you are using (Microsoft, MtG,
Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc.) and if you also have the problem streaming with Netflix, using Edge, etc.

Also, we need the data from System->Settings->Generall->Network Settings and from ->Test network speed & statistics. While this won't directly show a buffering issue, the data will give some insight as to possible problems.

Also if you can, ISP, Modem/Router model, Xbox model and movie title/rating. Actually we don't need that last one.

The 20 to 25-second cycle is definitely a data download and buffering issue. Have you recently gone through an "update" by your provider? Unfortunately, it is likely you would not know. Especially this would be the case if you are connected wirelessly. Because
of Quality of Service, your Xbox might not be getting the amount of bandwidth it needs.

My first time with this was to get Xfinity to replace my MOCA modem, next time I went and purchased my own. Even though I was supposed to be getting 50GB Down and 20 up, I was getting only 28 and this was not enough for the whole house. I had to fiddle manually
with the QoS. Not something that was fun. Finally I switched to Frontier and got the bandwidth at the spigot and their modem worked well enough. I still went with my own router eventually.

Every time i try and start the movie it will play for about 20 sec then freeze for 25 sec then play then freeze. I tried letting it play for bit and then start again, nothing. How do i fix this or is it an xbox problem?

so its definitely not the console. Basically for whatever reason the video stream is coming in slower than normal so you are having to wait to let it load more of the movie. Either youre getting lag to somehow slow it down or you’ve got extremely slow internet
speeds. Check those first and see if thats an issue
