Can't reinstall MSFS 2020 on Windows 10

I was unable to launch MSFS 2020 standard edition, so I uninstalled it and tried to uninstall it in the XBOX app. I got the error message Something Unexpected Happened and error code 0x00000001. There is a green banner across the top of the app, "Having trouble installing or launching games? Fix it now". I clicked on "Fix it now" and followed all the suggestions, except that "request a call" was unavailable. None of the suggestions helped

Deleting the keys made no difference. I need to leave and will check back later today.

On October 30, 2021, I tried downloading again, and it worked. After the download, I was able to launch MSFS 2020, reinstall all the updates, and fly.

I already tried the steps above "If the above fails..."

I tried using regedit to delete
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices and received the message "Cannot delete GamingServices. Error while deleting key."

I didn't get to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNe but there is no such key. There is GamingServicesNet (notice the t at the end).

I can't delete either registry key. Is there some special way I should have started regedit, like "Run as administrator" or something?

No, it's correct. When you deleted the keys it made no difference?
