Can't reinstall game on Xbox Games Pass for PC

When I had built my computer a while ago my CPU came with 3 months of Xbox game pass for free, I used this to play a lot of Forza 4 after the game pass expired I uninstalled the game since I was unable to play it anymore. Recently I got the game pass again
and was attempting to download Forza for the second time but now I am getting the error message 0x80073cf9 which means that the game is installed on my machine already, it is not. I have tried a few things but now I am just stuck, anyone have a solution?

Hi!

It appears that the game has not been uninstalled correctly. Try to uninstall the game manually: App->Select the game->Uninstall

Then try reinstalling it from the store.

try installing it through the windows store if you can, that might be a work around, also if you haven't already try signing out and back into the app and restarting your PC if you haven't already.

Found the issue! There was an update to this game queued in the 'Downloads and Updates' section of the Microsoft Store. I think the update was stuck there in limbo, as I'd uninstalled the game. Downloading the update now - and now it shows up as downloading
in the Xbox app.
