Cant register xbox series controller to my devices

when I try to do so I get this error msg "Try again later...

We can't add your device right now. Wait a bit, then try again. If this issue persists, contact us."
Im also facing other issues with my controller on windows like, cant update its firmware with xbox accessories as well as low polling rate(65-58Hz) and noticeably high input delay(15-17 ms). I bought the controller brand new, the controller feels and looks genuine, so unless fakes have gotten super accurate, I feel like this shouldnt be happening to me.

Both links allow you to register the device, these are two ways to do it.

If you already tried both and it didn't work, you will need to contact support and ask them for help to register it for you, remember that this is a public forum and I am a common player just like you, so I don't have access to the system. You can contact them through this website:

hey, thanks for the reply.
but, janet, please. you gave me a link to apply for warranty, but to do that it requires me to register my device, WHICH I CANT DO BECAUSE THATS MY INITIAL PROBLEM. and the 2nd link you sent is about selecting a registered device and submitting a request link about it, BUT AGAIN I CANT HECKING REGISTER THE CONTROLLER. thanks

If you have these delay problems and it is not possible to update the controller, you will need to apply the warranty if you still have it, try to do it through this website:

Also you can submit an request at this link:

There you will see your registered devices, select the device that presents the problem and select "Next", fill in the necessary data and you will be able to create your order.

So, I just tested this to see:

I registered my Series X controller.

Sure enough, it said it was registered but wasn't showing up

I then clicked "see details" on my Series X entry which took me to my Series X

I then clicked "All Devices" to take me back to the previous screen and the controller then showed up.

So, not entirely sure why it won't work for you

In order for you to possibly get a replacement for the controller in question. You must register the device and then create a service order. As long as you are still under warranty, they will generally replace the faulty device. I wish you good luck.

If the controller came with your Xbox Series X, register the console. After registering the console select 'See details' on the registered device and then opt to start order with that console. After selecting start order, you'll be able to select accessory as the category of issue.
