Can't refer friends to Gold.

I see the pop up on my dashboard all the time saying "Refer friends, get rewarded." and when I look at the details, it basically says "if you have Gold, refer friends who don't to Gold and get rewarded."

But why am I not eligible to refer friends when I try? I have two friends that desperately need Gold and I'd like to be rewarded for referring them, kinda like DirecTV.

Hello GODDESS BAST,

There is no offer to simply refer someone to join Xbox Live Rewards. If you are talking about the "Refer Friends, Earn Rewards" offer at the bottom of the MyMissions page, that offer is to refer a friend to Gold. Since your friends are already Gold members,
that offer cannot be sent to them.

I have many friends on the xbox one that I can not refer to the xbox rewards. it tells me I have no friends that do not qualify. what do they have to do? they have xbox gold, I play with a lot of them everyday. please help.

There are multiple reasons a friend may not be eligible for the Refer-a-Friend Reward. Your friend may already be an Xbox Live Gold member, or have recently acted on a referral and upgraded to Gold. Also, the Refer-a-Friend Reward may not be available in

Were you referred by a friend to upgrade to gold? As of July 1, 2014, there are no offers to receive credits for renewing gold. Refer a friend is the only way to receive credits for going gold.

From the FAQ for this offer:

How many Rewards Credits can I earn for referring friends?

While you can only refer up to 5 friends a day, there is no limit to the number of Rewards Credits you can earn for successfully referring friends. A successful referral hinges on a referred friend(s) upgrading to an Xbox Live Online Gold membership within
14 days of receiving the referral email and signing up for Xbox Live Rewards (if they weren't already a member). Credits will be awarded once your referred friend(s) has been Gold for at least 30 days.

Since your friend referred you on January 1st, and you did not purchase a Gold subscription until February, you did not upgrade to Gold within the 14 day period of receiving the email.

Can't refer friends to Gold.
