Cant redeem the 3 dollar gift card from gamepass so how do I fix it

If I may ask, are you trying to redeem the gift card from the Microsoft Rewards or you're trying to redeem the gift card on your Xbox console?

Kindly confirm if you have the gift card redeemed or the funds added to your account, by signing your account on account.microsoft.com > payment and billing > order history > select the date of range when you redeemed the gift card.

Also, check if the funds are showing under your account on account.microsoft.com > payment and billing > payment option.

If the funds or the gift card are not showing on your account, try to redeem the codes again on redeem.microsoft.com

However, if the code error message says "the codes were already redeemed" upon redeeming them on the link above yet it doesn't show up on your account, check your other Microsoft email accounts or your family members or friends that might be using your Xbox console or Windows PC at home. It might be possible that the gift card was redeemed accidentally to one of their accounts.

Did you buy a pre-paid gift card from a retailer or local convenient store? Or did you buy a

digital code online?

With either method, you still need to redeem the code to your Microsoft Account, and you can do so in many different ways. Take a look at this guide "Redeem
a gift card or code to your Microsoft account" with steps on how to redeem your 100 dollar gift card.

I pre-ordered from gamestop. then got an email saying rise of iron was ready to download. so i clicked on th elin kand redeemed the code... and got a 30 dollar MS gift card that I cant even use towards the add on, plus you don't get any of the pre-order
bonuses because you didnt really pre-order... you just bought a gift card. Unreal. Why is this acceptable?
