Cant redeem my 14-day trial, Xbox game pass that came with controller. (PC)

As the title says, I bought the new Series controller on November 10th, 2020 for use on my Windows PC. The controller came with a 14-day trial XBOX GAME PASS code. Ive only now tried to redeem the code on the XBOX app from the microsoft store, but I got greeted with this message:

"Pick another way to pay. This code isn't from a gift card."

I've never before been subscribed to GAME PASS, and I would really like to know if my code is even usable, or if it would be possible to get a replacement code?

Hello, regarding your explanation I will need you to first try checking your account subscriptions to see if you have any suspended subscription that could be blocking you from redeeming the code.

After that I will need you to follow the steps on this link Redeem a gift card or code to your Microsoft account so that you can redeem your code. If the issue persists please contact our support Contact us | Xbox Support.

Er...my question is that a 'xbox game pass ultimate 14 days trial codes' could be used/sold as 'xbox game pass 14 days trial code' or 'xbox gold live 14 days trial code', right?

I understand that a xbox game pass 14 days trial code or a xbox live gold 14 days trial code can't be used/sold as xbox game pass ultimate 14 days trial code for sure.

Because a 'xbox games pass ultimate 14 days trial code' equals a 'xbox game pass 14 days trial code + xbox live gold 14 days trial code', so for new Microsoft/Xbox accounts, a 'xbox game pass ultimate 14 days trial codes' could be used/sold as 'xbox game
pass 14 days trial code' or 'xbox gold live 14 days trial code' , right?

Please help to clarify.

If your trying to redeem the 14 day trial that came with your Xbox One for some reason it wont work on the console or xbox.com, I just called up 1800 4MY XBOX and they gave me 1 month redeemable code due to issue with the 14 day trial code

Please bear in mind Xbox Gold trials does not stack to each other. If you redeemed a 14 day trial code then redeem a 2 day code it will remove the 14 day trial code. Have you redeemed other codes besides the 14 day trial?

there is a 14 day free trial when you start game pass. after that it's $10 a month. If you can find the SOT controller there is a 14 more days of game pass. Hope that helps.
